Best Methods used for Installing Drywall There are several steps to be followed and some safety tips for installing drywall as follows: Secure the drywall to the studs with screws. Make sure the screws are slightly recessed so they can be covered later. If you chose to use drywall finishing corners, they are made of tape and paper and can be applied to help hang the sheets in a straight line. Another option is butt joint systems. These systems are fixed to the wall and make it easier to line sheets up on the wall so that they are hung in a straight and seamless line next to each other. The basic installation of drywall really is just that simple. Once the drywall sheets are covering the open studs on the wall you have a clean flat surface on which to apply textured plaster or to affix other wall covering material like paneling or tile. Drywall forms the secure base of the wall and gives the surface of the wall the structural integrity required for average use. Certainly excessive force will dent or even break drywall, but fortunately in those cases, the broken piece can be removed, a drywall patch cut and secured in place, smoothed out with tape, and plastered over. In the event of leakage in a bathroom or from kitchen appliances or water heater, large sections of wet dry wall can be removed relatively easily and new pieces secured in place. While such repairs are messy and are nuisance, they are nowhere near as complex as replacing the entire wall itself. The Advantages of Fire Resistant Rated DrywallA house with a drywall finishing installed has extra fire prevention properties. This is an advantage, especially for larger homes where a fire could spread quickly and installing drywall is recommended for this reason. Drywall installation not only allows you to easily alter the configuration of the walls in your home, but it also enhances the safety of the home.Related ArticlesGet Ready for a Brand New Kitchen, Kitchen Remodeling Made Easy!Kitchen Cabinet Refacing - Get Ready for an Entirely New Look Is it the Right Time to Replace Your Worn Out Windows?
